STATUS A resident that is common and widely distributed in Derbyshire. It is common in all areas of the county.

ID POINTERS – An easy spring moth to identify by the rounded tip to the forewing and prominent oval and kidney mark that are outlined in a straw yellow colour. Also a prominent angled outer cross-line. The ground colour is variable but usually a shade of chestnut brown or grey-brown in the main. A very common spring moth.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing March – May
