STATUS A resident that is fairly common in some areas but widely distributed in Derbyshire. Found in highest numbers throughout the old woodlands in the south and east of the county.

ID POINTERS – Gets its name from the two black triangular-shaped marks half way across the inner edge to the outer forewing. The forewing is broad and slightly curved. An unmistakable spring moth.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing March – May
