STATUS A resident that is very common and widely distributed in Derbyshire. Recorded from all areas of the county. One of the most abundant species of macro moth in the county, however there is a considerable reduction in numbers in the north.

ID POINTERS – Lacks the dark smoky markings as Smoky Wainscot. Many whitish veins over a straw yellow or pinkish yellow ground colour. Several tiny blackish dots around the inner and outer wing areas. The hind wing is whitish and sometimes dusted with grey. Otherwise no real obvious stand-out features.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing June – September
