STATUS A resident that is widely distributed, mainly in the lowlands where it is fairly common in Derbyshire. Was considered rare in the county, prior to 1960 but seems to have extended its range from south to east since and is considered common across many sites throughout the Trent Valley and even into the Peak District.

ID POINTERS – The hind-wing is a pale straw-yellow with brown borders and along with a generally grey brown upper-wing and a white wavy outer cross-line are diagnostic features.   

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing July – August.
