STATUS A resident that is fairly common and widely distributed, present in all areas of the county, especially on the Coal Measures of central Derbyshire.

ID POINTERS – There are two colour forms found in Derbyshire – the normal straw colour – crenata and a reddish-brown to darkish brown form combusta. In both forms they show two dark terminal wedges, including a prominent and elongated tornal streak. In the straw form the oval & kidney marks are dark edged and pale edged in the reddish form.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing May – July.
