STATUS A resident that is common and widely distributed in Derbyshire. Greatest numbers are found in the south and east but generally found in all areas of the county.

ID POINTERS – Fairly diagnostic. As the name suggests, the ground colour is a rosy brown with a dark brown central cross-band. Oval and kidney marks are contained within the band and are pale centred. Wing tips pointed and there is a small dark line along the outer wing edge

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing August – October.
