STATUS – First recorded in Derbyshire in 1987. Now a resident that is uncommon and locally distributed in Derbyshire. Only spasmodically recorded primarily from sites in the south of the county.
ID POINTERS – A small and very variable species. Looks very much like an Acleris micro moth. Narrow and steeply arched forewing, with a straight leading edge and curved outer edge to a pointed tip. Markings quite varied – from grey-brown to orange brown, with a variety of cross-bands; an all blackish variety and a rarer variety with broad tawny band and blackish streak running down through the wing.
FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing July – May.
