STATUS A resident that is local and uncommon in Derbyshire. Although described as an indicator species of ancient woodlands, this moth seems to be confined to the woodlands of the northern central area of the county and appears to be absent from the ancient woodlands in the south. 

ID POINTERS – A small, robust and thickset furry moth. Broad and rounded forewing, usually dark-brown at the basal half and light grey to light brown at the outer half. Male has densely pectinate antennae.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing May – July
