Goat Moth – Cossidae – Cossinae – Cossus cossus – colour code • 

STATUS – Last recorded – July 1976 – A resident species that appears to be quite rare in Derbyshire. Very few modern day records that I can find. 

ID POINTERS –  Relatively unmistakable, being very large and heavy in appearance

FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing June – July
