Chalk Carpet Geometridae – Larentiinae – Scotopteryx bipunctaria – colour code

STATUS – A resident species, restricted to Mountain Limestone where it is fairly common at low density.
 
ID POINTERS – A delicately marked carpet moth, the only species with a cold grey and quite pointed forewing. Intricately marked with fine cross-lines and bands and a pair of small central black spots on each forewing.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing July – August
