The Chevron – Geometridae – Larentiinae – Eulithis testata – colour code • 

STATUS – A resident species, widely distributed and locally common on the upland moors in Derbyshire, where it seems to be well established. Uncommon or absent from other areas of the county.
 
ID POINTERS – A variable species displaying colour forms from yellow through to dark brown. Contrasting darker cross bands, fringed white, through the forewing, pale fringes to the trailing edge of the wing with a small diagonal pale or white line running into the forewing from the wing tip. Diagnostic feature is the Chevron shaped central cross-band.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing between  July – September
