Striped Twin-spot CarpetGeometridae – Larentiinae – Coenotephria salicata

STATUS – A resident species that is locally common near Edale, but seems to be rare elsewhere in the Peak District and absent from the low-lying areas of the county. Mainly found on moorland.
 
ID POINTERS –  A mottled grey carpet moth that is rather weakly marked and with a dark spot in the contrasting central cross-band that runs through the forewing.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing between May-July
