STATUS – Uncommon and locally distributed in Derbyshire. Primarily found in the Carboniferous Limestone Dales.
 
ID POINTERS – Usually a dark brown as the name suggests but can be in varying degrees of contrast. Hindwing is scalloped. Intricately marked with many cross-lines and a darker central cross-band bordered white
