STATUSLast recorded June 2022. Locally uncommon – One known locality in Derbyshire, from 1986 – a small population in Ticknall Lime yards, where the food plant, Traveller’s Joy is found. Unsure if this population still exists today. (2022). In 2007 the DANES Journal states that 2 individuals were taken at MV light trap at Over Haddon, near Lathkill Dale, where the food plant is found. Now one taken overnight 16th – 17th June 2022 at Long Eaton in a garden Moth trap per Paul Buxton, who managed an image prior to it flying off.
 
ID POINTERS – The broad blackish band from leading half of outer edge to middle of trailing edge, and merging with band on hindwing when the moth is at rest, makes it distinctive.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing May – June and again in August
