STATUS – Very rare and few records in a year. Last recorded in Derbyshire in 2023 – In 1986 it was thought to be extinct in Derbyshire, but since then there were a number of records in the 1990’s. and it continues to be recorded in small numbers each year. One trapped in Grinlow Woods, Buxton on 10th July 2021. Latest records of 2 in July 2023, a daytime observation, in a small plantation at Fernilee Reservoir, and a specimen trapped in a garden trap at Buxton.  
 
ID POINTERS –  Distinguished from all similar species by the broad and rounded forewing and the faint scalloping on both the fringes for the forewing and hind-wing.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  June- August
