STATUS –  A resident species that is common and widely distributed in Derbyshire. The greatest densities from south and east of the county
 
ID POINTERS – Females are wingless. A variable brownish moth with a contrasting darker brown cross band, edged pale, through the forewing, with a central dark kidney mark. Hind wing is very pale cream colour with a neat chequered band along the trailing edge.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  January – February
