STATUS – A resident that is fairly common and widely distributed in Derbyshire. Generally common in all areas apart from the Peak Grit area. Numbers seem to fluctuate each year.

ID POINTERS – Fairly unmistakable and easy to see why it gets it’s name. A small white moth with dark grey or blackish grey broad cross band boarded either side with white. A greyish white oval and kidney mark. The leading edge of the forewing is very straight in appearance.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing May – August
