STATUS A resident that is widely distributed and locally common, with the exception of the Peak Grit area, where it is quite rare.

ID POINTERS – The main ID feature is a long black streak that extends into the wing from the forewing base, with further bold white band that extends along the leading edge. A fairly diagnostic, thick-set Wainscot.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing mid June – August
