Derbyshire is blest with some stunning Limestone Dales that provide ideal habitat for the Dipper<\/strong> <\/span>and of course other water birds such as Grey Wagtail. I spent Sunday 17th April with Glyn and Richard in one of the Derbyshire Dales. We had a great day, spending time watching several pairs of Dipper, including one pair that were busy feeding their youngsters. Superb weather made for a very enjoyable day.<\/p>\n

Several pairs of Grey Wagtail were nest building, a pair of Marsh Tit showed well and also a snippet of song from a Redstart<\/span>. Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler were in small numbers and a Raven<\/span> made a brief appearance. Later we headed further north and managed to find a very rare and elusive bird in Derbyshire, the Twite. A fitting end to a great day.<\/p>\n
