I recently spent a few days photographing Mountain Hare, in the Scottish Highlands, with Pete Walkden<\/strong><\/span>. I had a fantastic two days with these attractive animals, often spending several hours alongside a single hare, being totally comfortable and at ease with our presence. The weather was just about perfect, with plenty of snow and several hours of clear blue skies. Pete’s knowledge and expertise with the hares paid off and his encouragement in getting me up to the snow fields, at around 2,000 feet, through deep snow, helped me immensely. I must admit when I eventually reached the top, after about an hour and a half of walking,  I was well and truly knackered, but recovered well, especially once we got amongst the hares. Thanks Pete for a great two days. <\/p>\n

During the weekend I also saw small numbers of Crested Tit, many Red Grouse, an immature Golden Eagle, numerous Raven and Buzzard, Peregrine, Dipper, Hooded Crow, Red Squirrel, Red Deer and Roe Deer.<\/p>\n
