{"id":25174,"date":"2019-06-10T09:25:43","date_gmt":"2019-06-10T09:25:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.simplybirdsandmoths.co.uk\/sbam\/?p=25174"},"modified":"2019-06-10T09:25:48","modified_gmt":"2019-06-10T09:25:48","slug":"a-day-twitching-in-yorkshire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.simplybirdsandmoths.co.uk\/sbam\/a-day-twitching-in-yorkshire\/","title":{"rendered":"A Day Twitching in Yorkshire"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A few good birds were available in Yorkshire this weekend, so a day twitching on Sunday was a wise move.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A male <strong>Black-headed Bunting<\/strong> and a female <strong>Subalpine Warbler sp,<\/strong> had been discovered at Flamborough Head, whilst a <strong>Great Reed Warbler<\/strong> was continuing to sing and show at Wintersett Reservoir, near Barnsley.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Subalpine Warbler, with it being a female, was virtually impossible to ID to species in the field, but was most probably a Western Subalpine Warbler. This species has now been split into three &#8211; Moltoni&#8217;s, Eastern &amp; Western Subalpine Warbler. So we called in to see it on our way back home. The bird was easily heard croaking away as we walked towards the site.
