A morning watching one of my favourite raptors, Honey Buzzard. In perfect skies & weather, up to 4 birds were performing and gave some very nice scope views. Unfortunately a little too far for the camera.

Later in the afternoon I went back to Foremark and was able to get much better shots of Essex Skipper in the warm afternoon sunshine. They are very tricky little butterflies but once you get your “eye-in” on the jizz, they become easier to find. The following shots show clearly the so called “Ink Dipped” tips to the antennae. The underwing also looks more silvery and clean looking than Small Skipper. They also seem to favour more grassy areas with scattered and isolated flowers.
