STATUS – Widely distributed and locally common in Derbyshire. The main populations are associated with river valleys, amongst willow carr, but distribution is general throughout the county, even up to an altitude of 300 metres.
 
 
ID POINTERS – A diagnostic moth, identified by a combination of blackish-brown blotches and borders to both the fore and hind wings.
 
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing May – August
