Tisheriidae – Tischeria ekebladella – Oak Karl

Status – Uncertain as records are sparse, but likely to be localised and found in or near any Oak mixed woodland in the county.

ID  PointersA Leaf-miner – The larva generally feeds on the leaves of oak (Quercus) or sweet chestnut (Castanea sativa), forming distinctive white mines on the upper-side. The larvae overwinter inside a circular chamber in the mine, and then pupate inside this chamber in late spring.. Forewing is a golden-brown, with darker brown markings towards the wing tips.
