Bucculatricidae – Bucculatrix nigricomella – Daisy Bent-wing

STATUS Probably local and uncommon moth, wherever there are Ox-eye Daisy.

ID POINTERS – A Leaf-miner – A tiny moth with a general dark greyish-brown colouration with off-white markings and noticeable white eye-caps

MINE – The mine is a lomg meandering narrow gallery and filled with black frass. Found on Ox-eye Daisy Mining the leaves first then creating small feeding windows.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing during the day in April-May – July – August. Leaf-mine November.
