STATUS – Nationally thinly but widely scattered. possibly declining in northern areas – Derbyshire unknown – suspect well-spread throughout the county, but thinly distributed.
ID POINTERS – A Leaf-miner – The adult moth is characteristically marked and cannot be confused. The silvery mine with brown speckling is located over the midrib or vein on the upper-side of the leaf, which is unusual. It also has a “double” mine within a mine, the outer mine being translucent and flecked with brown. shown on Crataegus (Hawthorn). Also found on Prunus (Cherry) and Malus (Apple)
