STATUS – Common across most of the British Isles. Derbyshire status, unknown but most probably common where the food plant exists
ID POINTERS – A Leaf-miner – The forewings are a golden brown with striking white markings. A “Tufted” head
MINE – Recognisable as a silvery blotch on the upper-side of the leaf, usually over veins. Later, the mines contract which causes the leaf to fold upwards. Numerous mines can be located on each leaf. Found on Corylus (Hazel)
FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing during May & August
MINE – July and September – October
