Oecophoridae – Oecophorinae – Metalampra italica – Italian Tubic

STATUS First recorded in Britain in 2003, otherwise known only in Italy, so likely to have been introduced. Since then it has spread to over a dozen counties in the south of England and is now known to be a breeding resident. Derbyshire status unknown. Recorded in 2023, again from Belper.

ID POINTERS – The forewing is an orange-reddish-brown. A yellowish spot is located along the costa and a pale yellow streak from the wing base to the dorsum, containing a brownish patch.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing June-August
