Gelechiidae – Gelechiinae -Gelechia senticetella – (Cypress Groundling)

STATUS Found on Juniper and Cypress but current status in the county unknown. Probably expanding its range due to the food plants being popular in gardens and sold in most garden centres.

ID POINTERS – Forewing greyish tinged yellowish brown to reddish brown and densely speckled blackish. Veins variably outlined blackish and dark spots or streaks, sometimes joined to form a longitudinal streak through the centre of the forewing. 

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing in July – August
