Momphidae – Mompha raschkiella – Fireweed Mompha

STATUS Locally fairly widespread where there is Rosebay Willow-herb.

ID POINTERS – A distinctive little moth that rests low and flat in a horizontal position. Forewing colour is a shining leaden grey, with a bright orange patch at one quarter and other orange markings in the mid-wing. Several very small scale tufts along the dorsum. A white costal spot towards the apex.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing May – September
