STATUS Generally uncommon across Britain. Status in Derbyshire uncertain with very few records since 2010. Last recorded in 2023. Would suggest it is very localised.

ID POINTERS – A rather variable species which generally shows a rich mixture of reddish ground-colour overlaid with darker and paler marbling. The whitish dorsal blotch can be large and conspicuous in some cases.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing during late June – September
