Tortricidae – Olethreutinae – Epinotia rubiginosana – Pine Bell

STATUS Probably locally common in Derbyshire wherever there are pie trees, Scots Pine in particular.

ID POINTERS – Forewing is grey with a subquadrate dorsal blotch that extends, somewhat diffusely, to the costa. The terminal area is a rufous-brown. Otherwise there are variable sprinklings of black and white scaling across the grey ground colour.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing during June.
