49.261 BF1157 – Tortricidae – Olethruetinae – Crocidosema plebejana

Tortricidae – Olethreutinae – Crocidosema plebejana – Southern Bell

STATUS Uncertain – First county record – Only one record from Kings Newton 1/8/2005. Maybe an immigrant or wanderer.

ID POINTERS – Forewing is a mottled array of black, brown and grey, with a creamy white to pale yellowish-brown triangular dorsal mark with a finger-like projection towards the apex. The wings appear to have a screwed-up look about them at rest.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing all year but mainly in the autumn.
