Tortricidae – Olethreutinae – Cydia pomonella – Codling Moth

STATUS A locally common species in the central and southern parts of the county

ID POINTERS – A fairly distinctive greyish or brownish-grey ‘tortrix’, with a darker, often coppery-brown roundish patch towards the rear of the wing. Forewing – Darker broken cross-banding and a thicker cross-band at about half way, across a pale grey or pale grey-brown base colour.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing during June – August
