Crambidae – Crambinae – Agriphila selasella – Pale Streaked Grass-moth

STATUS A species that seems to be expanding its range into Derbyshire. With twenty seven records between 2011 – 2023, it would seem that this species is possibly locally common and maybe overlooked.

ID POINTERS – Although superficially resembling Agriphila tristella, this species has the forewing tip more squared, a much reduced facial cone and a whiter longitudinal streak, that is dark edged to one side, and which doesn’t have quite such obvious ‘fingers’ at the rear.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing during July – August
