STATUS – A new species for Derbyshire that is very locally distributed in Britain away from southern England. Maybe a new colonist from populations in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. One trapped on 16 June 2022 from Newall.
 
 ID POINTERS – Heavily marked with diagonal dark cross-lines on forewing and horizontal cross-lines on upper hind wing, and fine speckling over a silver grey-brown ground colour. Rather pointed wing tips. Male has long and broad feathery antennae. Strength of markings can be very variable.
 
 FLIGHT PERIOD –  One brood that is on the wing June – July
