STATUS A resident that is well distributed and very common in Derbyshire. Found throughout the county and due to improvements in air pollution this moth seems to be maintaining high population levels as the larvae feed on lichens.

ID POINTERS – A diagnostic feature of this small moth is the cross-line before the oval mark that runs directly across the wing from edge to edge. The ground colour is delicately marbled with cream and grey or cream and grey-green or cream and orange-grey. The outer wing edge is curved and rounded at the tip

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing June – August.
