STATUS A resident that is generally common and widely distributed in Derbyshire. Present in all areas of the county, with main populations in the lowlands and on the Coal Measures.

ID POINTERS – The ground colour is mainly sandy-brown or greyish-brown and forewing rather plain, save for the obvious pale oval and kidney marks and a slightly branched basal streak, helping to make this moth easy to identify. The forewing can sometimes have a reddish tinge.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing May – July.
