STATUS – A resident, widely distributed & locally abundant in North Derbyshire. The species has a two year life cycle and the adults fly biennially (during odd numbered years).
 
ID POINTERS – The moth is richly coloured in deep brown with a white central spot and a broad pale buff coloured band in the forewing.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing June-August.
