STATUS – A resident species that is common and widely distributed throughout Derbyshire.
 
ID POINTERS – Can be confused with Dark Marbled Carpet. It is very variable in patterning and colour and one form has a large unmistakeable orange-brown patch on the forewing. The central cross-band is narrow and does not have such a long and pointed central projection as in Dark marbled Carpet.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing between May – July and August-October.
