STATUS – Last recorded – August 2023 – A resident but scarce and locally distributed in Derbyshire. Restricted to the south of the county and the population is precarious with very few records. Between 2013 – 2018 only 3 reports of this species. Five records in years 2021, 2022 and 2023 from scattered locations. 
 
 ID POINTERS – A large moth that is distinctive. Attractively marked with orange and purple shades across both upper-wing surfaces. Bright orange veins, also a dark wavy cross-line near the trailing edge of the forewing and another that tapers to a point near the basal area.
 
 FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing July – September
