STATUS – An uncommon immigrant to Derbyshire. Recorded most years in small numbers.  Rarely more than two or three recorded a year, but in recent years records have increased.
 
ID POINTERS – Looks like a small hummingbird as it flits and hovers, feeding from flower to flower. The hind-wings are bright orange.
 
 FLIGHT PERIOD –  Usually discovered during July – September
