STATUS – A resident species that is generally common and widely distributed throughout Derbyshire. Most frequently found in the south and east of the county.

ID POINTERS – The moth is fairly diagnostic. Overall uniform brown, in pale and dark tones. A small scale tuft on the trailing tip of the forewing and a comb like yellow-cream tuft on top of the thorax. The trailing edge of the forewing is scalloped.

FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing April through September.
