STATUSA resident species that is uncommon and locally distributed in Derbyshire. Associated with the uplands and the limestone dales and present in small colonies at low density of populations.

ID POINTERS – A softly patterned species that has rather blurred markings, a dark hindwing with pure white fringes and pastel shades of grey brown and pale yellowish brown helps to ID the moth. Can show a dark band at the terminal edge of the forewing and faint zig-zag cross lines.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing June – September.
