STATUSA resident species that is widely distributed and very common on the upland grit-stone moors of Derbyshire. Sometimes found in areas well away from moorland and not unusual to find it occurring in urban areas.

ID POINTERS – A small moth that is attractively marked and coloured. The ground colour is reddish brown, covered with a mosaic of fine white and black markings. Fairly diagnostic.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing June – August.
