STATUS A resident that is widely distributed and generally an uncommon species in Derbyshire. Found in all areas of the county and generally associated with well wooded areas, particularly containing old or ancient woodland.

ID POINTERS – A rather plain yellowish straw-brown coloured moth with a distinctive angled outer cross-line, that kinks towards the wing tip and red in colour edged with pale yellow (hence name). Kidney and oval mark are pale centred edge in pale reddish.A fairly distinctive autumn moth.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing September – November.
