STATUS A resident that is widely distributed but not common in Derbyshire. Present in all areas of the county and generally recorded with more regularity in the old woodland areas of the southern lowlands.

ID POINTERS – This moth is typically a pale grey or whitish grey, sparsely marked with black arrow-heads and “W” shapes. There is also a black basal streak. The most noticeable feature is a black crescent which forms the inner edge of the faint kidney mark.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing May – August.
