STATUS A resident that is common and widely distributed in Derbyshire. Found in all areas of the county but in greatest numbers in the lowland areas.

ID POINTERS – Unmistakable. A broad and hooked forewing with bright metallic greenish-yellow or brassy-yellow patches contrasting with metallic brown patches at the basal area and along the leading edge. The are two forms and both have distinctive wing patterns.

FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing June – September.
