STATUS – Last recorded October 2023 – A resident species, that is locally distributed and fairly common at a few sites in north Derbyshire. It is primarily a limestone species, so favours the Limestone Derbyshire Dale areas.
ID POINTERS – Similar to Common (alternata) and Garden Carpet (fluctuata) – Thicker cross band right across forewing is a good pointer and eliminates fluctuata, but most important feature is the slightly concave leading edge to the forewing
FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing between June – August
