Latticed Heath Geometridae – Ennominae – Chiasmia clathrata –

STATUS – Although recorded from most area of Derbyshire, it is relatively uncommon and localised. The south of the county and the Coal Measures seem to be its stronghold.
 
ID POINTERS – Quite a variable species, with several named forms and subspecies, and the ground colour varying from yellowish to white. A net-work effect across the wings formed by cross-lines of brown and white, forming squares of colour.
 
FLIGHT PERIOD –  On the wing – May-June and July-September
